During a trip to Poland’s south central region, Województwo świętokrzyskie - a place where two neighbouring villages stand surrounded by dense forests, I’ve produced a body of photographic work with the intent of sharing some of it’s history.
The place has been marked by war but had also been where my great-grandparents have spent their lives and where my grandparents - Zofia and Edward have met. Despite their lengthy history, the two houses belonging to each of my grandparent’s families, stand remote, one of them slowly being reclaimed by nature. The two villages the houses are a part of, are ghost towns in comparisons to what they once were, although recently weekend cottages have began to be erected, with more noticing the beauty of the place that had been slowly forgotten.
